"This recipe was OK. I like the method of mixing the shredded carrot with the flour but I agree that the flavor (spices) needed to be kicked up a notch and the cake turned out really dense. The frosting was excellent though. I added a tablespoon of orange juice and about 2 tablespoons of spiced rum and omitted the vanilla. The frosting was flavorful and more "loose" than it would have been by Alton's recipe, but it held up well once refrigerated."
Reviewed Hot Spinach and Artichoke Dip
"Instead of boiling the spinach and artichokes I sauted them in olive oil and 2 cloves of chopped fresh garlic. I used canned artichokes and did a rough chop to make them a little easier to scoop with a ptia chip/baguette/etc. I followed the rest of the recipe and it was perfect.YUM!
