Reviewed Perfect Pot Roast

Jan 3, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

This was excellent over mashed potatoes. DON'T SKIMP on the salt and pepper when seasoning the roast. Mine was a little over 3 lbs and was perfectly cooked in 3 hours. I used chicken stock (not broth) because it has more flavor. I also added a bay leaf. Can't wait to make this again!

Wow! These were amazing! Followed the recipe exactly- bake on parchment paper. "

I didn't love this at all. I think it tasted too "thyme-y." I would use dried thyme or none at all. You really can't beat traditional fried chicken!"

MMM! Much better than I expected. Don't be stingy on the glaze!"

Reviewed Pastina with Peas and Carrots

Jul 7, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Great flavor- similar to alfredo sauce. I wouldn't call this a "light" sauce either. The carrots needed a bit longer to cook. I added shrimp at the end and made this an entree. I guess this is better for you than alfredo sauce because there is no butter- I used light cream cheese and it was still very yummy."

Wow! These were better than expected. This made 18 large muffins for me. It definitely needed at least 20 minutes to bake. To make them a bit healthier, I used half wheat flour and half almond flour. You would never know.""

Outstanding! I tossed the sauce with pasta and poured it over the chicken. It was really great- the chicken alone was delicious. Definitely use ONE lemon instead of two, and definitely use the red pepper flakes. This was also very yummy leftover.""

Reviewed Corn and Cheese Chowder

This was pretty good. I would recommend NOT using milk and sticking with the half and half. In addition, you will need at least 1/4 cup of flour to thicken it up. I would also let it simmer for more than 15 minutes.

I cooked the bacon beforehand, and then added the chopped bacon to the onions. I used three slices, and I think...

I don't think chicken noodle soup gets much better than this! It was even better the next day. I wouldn't leave out the grated parm cheese or the sherry- that really gave it that extra oomph. I used a splash of milk instead of cream and you wouldn't know the difference. Way to go Paula! ""

Everyone loved these. Make sure you don't over-do it on the sweet condensed milk, because you can taste it if you do. Don't be skimpy on the chocolate either. Get a really nice brown on the bottom. These cookies taste better on the second and third day.""

Don't bake these for more than 10 minutes. They're pretty tasty- you definitely want to make the icing. Next time I am going to try almond or maple oil to add to the icing. ""

This was an ok dish. I don't understand why so many people raved about it. I guess I'm just used to regular (fatty alfredo!! Anyway, I sauteed mushrooms and onion first to give it more flavor. I would cut down or eliminate the corn starch. Using "fat free" half and half is just fine if you don't have light half and half. Go for the high qua...

Good thing I a be added onion and mushrooms or this would have been a blah dish. I used fat free half and half and the sauce still didnt thicken properly. The overall taste was ok for it being a light dish.""
