Reviewed Cioppino

Aug 4, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe was fantastic! I made my own fish stock which was amazing. I used snow crab, halibut, shrimp and clams and made everything exactly as the recipe showed plus added a teaspoons of dried oregano and fresh thyme. At the end I garnished with fresh basil. My husband said it was the best cioppino he's ever had. I served it with sourdough brea"

Absolutely divine!!! That crust was super easy to make and so tender and delicious. Needed to bake it about 5 minutes longer but everything else was on the money. The flavor pairing was amazing. The blue cheese mellows out quite a bit when it bakes/melts. And the lemon juice, cinnamon and sugar balance out all the flavors. Giada never disappoints....

Reviewed Couscous-Stuffed Peppers with Basil Sauce

Jul 22, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Wow!!! Ok, made serious modifications only to the ingredients, not method or quantity. I used whole wheat couscous and used veg broth and 1.5 tsp cumin (can get bitter if you use 2 tsp), added lime zest and juice to the couscous, 1 link chorizo cooked with 1 shallot and 1 garlic clove, wild arugula, black beans, corn and lite mexican cheese blend "

Ok, some of you people are crazy. These little cupcakes tasted like strawberry shortcake. They're amazing! Sold them at a bake sale and they were the first to go. I used her mascarpone/cream cheese frosting from her brownie cupcakes for this. Otherwise I made it exactly as the recipe calls for but didn't add lemon juice to the filling. I'm going t"

I made these for the first time also knowing they would be time consuming. But luckily I had all day on a rainy Saturday to do them for a holiday cookie swap party the following day. These cookies were a huge hit, and if I do say so myself, the best cookies at the party. I made them exactly as the recipe called for except I used freshly grated nut"

Reviewed Chicken Cacciatore

Jun 26, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I've been making this dish since it aired on Food Network and it's my favorite version of cacciatore. It's so comforting and flavorful. I usually use boneless, skinless thighs and breasts. I serve with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Perfection!"

Reviewed Frozen Mango Cocktail

May 6, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This cocktail is so delicious...and come on, healthy with the mango. :-) I made the recipe almost exactly as it calls for except I added 1/4 cup of lime juice instead of 3 Tbsp and 1 cup of tequila instead of 3/4 cup. I'm glad I did too because with the simple syrup it's a little sweet. I might even add a touch more lime next time. But so refreshi"

I made this today for lunch with a side salad. It was ok. I used Coppa which is another kind of cured meat. It was really salty though. I think next time I'll use straight up ham or maybe prosciutto. I only cooked it for 20 minutes at 400 and it came out perfect.""

Reviewed Penne with Braised Short Ribs

Jun 19, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe is one of my favorites. I follow the recipe exactly. I love the dijon mustard. It definitely makes a difference. Other short rib recipes are too tomato pasty. This is perfect! I have done the recipe 2 ways - one with penne (so-so) and the other served ribs on their own with a side of roasted asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. Heaven"

Jun 19, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Ok, so this was my second time making it. First time, a little tough and very greasy. But the second time was a masterpiece! I followed the directions exactly except for the marinade I only used 2 Tbsp of oil because 1/2 a cup is too much. But 2 Tbsp was plenty. I also only used 2 Tbsp when I sauteed the onions and peppers. Lastly, I braised it in"
