"Do a search for FLAPJACKS & Chef Alton Brown, that's where you'll find your MIX. Try watching Good Eats sometime!
MUGSY,
Please do exactly as the recipe states. This is not a Yeast Bread, these are a Quick Bread. They rise in the oven because of the chemicals reacting (which you've already used up & the oven's heat sets them. By letting them start to rise prior to baking you've used your 1 time chemical reaction, it doesn't re-rise like Yeast Bread. Pancake batter they actually say to let sit for 10"+ before using. We all need to remember it's really hard sometimes because we live at different humidities & altitudes our mixes can act very different. Flour is a funny thing, you've got hard + soft wheats & 100% whole wheat is a no no with breads. Please try them again. As soon as they are on the baking sheet PLEASE put them in the oven. NO pre-shredded Cheese the flavor dissipates. Baking Powder expires in 4 months! How old is your Mix? Learn to date items when you buy them."

About Me
Don't Facebook, Tweet, have Texting or Internet on my Emergency Cell-Phone. Love helping people, especially at Holiday Times when they've forgotten an important ingredient of their Family's favorite recipe.
As a Disabled Widow, it's just me and my Seizure Alert Service Rottweiler here at home to cook for. I love helping others, as we know so it's easy to forget 1 ingredient on something you've been making for years.
Before becoming disabled I used to drive 30K miles a year and show dogs 2-5 days a week plus work full-time. I normally ran around 5 miles a day between my Mastiffs, Rotts, Labs and canines I handled for other people; I had a lot of fun and made friends with 1,000's of people.
One Pet Peeve I have is when looking at a recipe and it calls for a 'stalk' of celery. Do they truly mean a 'stalk' or a 'rib' of celery? Makes a BIG Difference in your recipe. Cooking.com and FoodNetwork Chef's and Cook's are starting to use this term interchangeably, which it is not!
Favorite Foods
American, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Thai, Submarine Sandwiches. Happy with just about anything. I make about 95% of the stuff that I eat.
About the only thing I don't love is Seafood/Fish. Had Swordfish once and loved it. I've been told that I need to ask for a meaty fish. No Organ Meat (Rxs). I prefer my meat Med.-Well. Poultry well-done.
I'm allowed to drink Ice Water, Cold; Peppermint, Spearmint & Raspberry 'Natural' Herbal Teas b/c of my Rxs and screwed-up vocal cords. Never really been a drinker, so I don't miss that too much. I may have a hot chocolate 2-3 times a year and with that I will use 2 capfuls of Cinnamon Schnapps. Gotta be bad sometimes, as long as my Drs. know that I do it and I keep it away from certain Rxs.
