Reviewed Bacon and Broccoli Rice Bowl

Aug 28, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I have had rice bowls from Hawaii to NYC. I just don't get this one though. It was tasteless, a huge waste of produce and groceries. I really looked forward to a rice bowl type of meal and I did make several adjustments during the cooking according to our tastes but no amount of salt, pepper, scallion, sesame, bacon, jalapeno seemed to help thi"

very tasty and satisfying. Took most of the suggestions about added s/p. Appreciated the thumbs up from one reviewer about the added cook time for the dish that way we were prepared for dinner on time! Agreed that fresh dill (and maybe a touch more) is a thing of beauty."

I wasn't to sure about this but decided to try it for a "meatless meal" for a change. It is actually quite good! To up the flavor I used basil garlic flavored polenta, added a few extra mushrooms for "body" and an extra ounce or two of sausage.
If you are looking for an alternative to a heavy meal try this one for an Italian alternative....

i read through almost ALL of the reviews before deciding on this particular cookie recipe. I addressed the crumbling issue and the chill or not to chill the dough. I had to decide on add an egg or not (not). After debating and compromising I made the cookies. The dough WAS crumbly but I did manage to roll some cookies and fill while constantly "

never again to be forced to use canned clam sauce and try to "doctor it up". This was a great and restaurant quality dish. Thanks to all who recommended adding canned clams and broth. I added 2 cans chopped clams and only used 1 can of the broth. Can't even imagine what it would be like without the extra clams and broth."

being empty nesters for the second time to our children and grand children I have taken up testing new recipes for my husband as my new hobby. I tried this tonight and we loved it.
The only "tweak" was using mango which are ripe and plentiful now instead of peach, pepper jack cheese instead of adding red pepper flakes, and since we had no...

WOW! What a refreshing change from all those salads we are reviewing and tasting. This is light and very refreshing. I have to agree with amatterofthyme that grilling the shrimp is probably the best way to go. The shrimp have much greater flavor that way. I only added a little extra lemon juice to give it more "zing" but of course you must try"
