I keep trying new French Onion soups and this one is sort of blah. I put toast on the bottom and the top of my bowl with smoked gouda over each and put it under the broiler - it was sort of tasty but not our favorite.

I tried this for the first time yesterday, because I had a tired old recipe out of my really old Betty Crocker cookbook that I have used for years. This recipe is so tasty and moist; used half whole wheat flour and half white all purpose flour. I also used half brown sugar instead of all granulated and only used 1/4 t. salt since I used salted butter....

Reviewed Shrimp and Grits

We thought this was tasty, but not worth doing again. My quick grits had a problem thickening and I had to turn off the shrimp and sausage mixture so the shrimp didn't over cook. This wasn't nearly as good as Paula Deen's Jalapeno Cheese Grits that is baked.
