Reviewed Apricot Glazed Cornish Game Hens with Italian Sausage-Rice Pilaf

Jan 8, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

This turned out fantastic, my husband raved all night. I used half wild rice and for the glaze I had some leftover Chipotle Apricot sauce that I used for extra flavor . It gave it a slightly spicy flavor, and I used spicy sausage as well. Would definitely make again, probably for guests. Its easy to make ahead then cook. Served with sauteed mushrooms...

Best ever.
I have been making something similar for a couple years but I dice 5 slices of bacon, cube the celery, carrots, onions, bell pepper, garlic and then put them into a food processor to grind them down, but NOT too finely. At that point I put them into the oil and cook them down and use that as the base for the rest of my ingredients....

VERY good, my husband (who usually avoids pasta) loved it. I used my favorite pasta sauce with artichoke puree but added the vodka and cooked it down. Added quartered (canned/no oil) artichoke hearts to the mix. By using a prepared spaghetti sauce I saved a lot of time, so it made it great for a weeknight dinner. PLENTY of leftovers for lunche"

This is delicious! I had a large pork butt and used that instead of ribs--much easier. Instead of beans I used hominy and also created my own spice mix. I had shredded cheese and lime sour cream for toppings. My husband raved and he's right, it is really good! Fantastic for apres skiing or a chilly Fall/Winter night. Served with garlic brea"

Made it pretty much as stated but added red pepper flakes and some spicy chicken sausage. SO good. My husband raved about the crispy veggies (I did cook them down!) and ate it all. I love any dish with veggies that are kind of hidden in. The sauce was rich and wonderful. This is a keeper."

really loved this. I too added double the spinach and had some leftover quinoa which I threw in (about 3/4 C). Pretty easy fast and tasty."

YUM! Made this for Super Bowl and it was a hit. Love the addition of oranges to melow out the acid, and used Meyer lemons. Added two small diced avocados. Used just half a red onion and diced it."

You will LOVE this recipe. This is how I was taught to make carnitas years ago but hadn't tried it for many years. I made it exactly as written and my husband and I loved it! We were worried about the fat but the meat was NOT greasy, it was super tender and tasted of orange--a great benefit. I'm not sure the coca cola helped (although I've alw"

My husband went CRAZY over this recipe. He loves this and it is our new go-to recipe for tacos. I also used chipotle peppers in adobo and added some orange juice concentrate which adds a new slightly sweet dimension to the dish. I've made it 2 times in the last 3 weeks and I make a double recipe and it still goes fast in our house. We used the...

WOW! I thought this was a great recipe. The intenseness of the gravy and the intense flavors it had due to to long cooking were great. I served this with cheesy polenta. What a hit! This will be a staple for me since I can cook this the day before and re-heat. YUM! Try it!""

My friends LOVE this recipe because it doesn't have a mayonaise base. It is light, refreshing with a spicy kick to it. I serve it in a martini glass as a spectacular starter to my grilled fish dinner. I have even added grapefruit segments in before for a citrusy kick. Tonight I added finely chopped celery and quartered grape tomatoes for a 'he...
