Reviewed Shrimp Balls with Water Chestnuts and Spicy Soy Dipping Sauce

Dec 22, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

While I found the Shrimp balls tasty, I had to add an additional cup of Panko breadcrumbs to get them to stay in a ball. Also, the dipping sauce was way too salty. I froze half the batch before cooking to see how they defrost and heat.

Love this sauce!! I leave out the celery (I am not found of it) and the carrot gives it a natural sweetness. I use it as the base for appetizer meatballs and it is great! I will continue to use this recipe when I need something quick and easy and tasty."

Reviewed Turnip Gratin With Almonds

Nov 24, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

First of all, I think I may have used the wrong kind of turnip since just the one weighed 2 lbs. I used the mandolin so the thickness was correct, but the cooking time didn't seem to be long enough and the turnips were very under cooked. When I reheated the following day, and added quite a bit of cooking time, they were much more tender and not "

Reviewed Roasted Pork and Potatoes With Creamy Applesauce

Feb 28, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I found it just OK. The pork while moist had very little flavor as did the potatoes. There was nothing wrong with the dish, it just didn't "wow" me like so many other food network recipes.""

Reviewed Sweet-and-Spicy Meatloaves

Feb 16, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was the juiciest, tastiest, meatloaf I have ever made. I did use 1 whole small onion accidently, but I liked it so I would do it again. Even my husband who likes his food very plain enjoyed the sweet curry flavor and the ketschup/apricot jam is just the right amount of glaze to carmelize on the top. I think the best part of this is by maki...

Reviewed (Almost My Grandma's Rouladen

Jan 16, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I think I must have done something wrong. The taste was delicious, but the meat was very dry, and I actually undercooked it by about 5 minutes. My only guess is I may have over cooked the bacon so there wasn't enough moisture inside the roll of meat. I also made the cabbage and loved it!""

Dec 20, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Liked the consistency but didn't know how much sour cream to use and without it the recipe seemed to have too much lemon juice.""
