Reviewed Charred Tomato Soup with Melted Mozzarella
"Love Alex's show and her great food analogies! Watching her cook is like getting a massage. I loved this soup! Fitting the bread to the bowl is not my thing, so I made cheese toast in the oven and cut into thirds for dipping. BUT the best idea was when I decided to make a smooth tomato which is really my favorite. Into the Vitamix for a minute. H""
Reviewed Sausage Balls
"In the Paula Deen's Kitchen Classics, the recipe is 3 C Biscuit, 2 C. cheddar and 1 # sausage for 15 minutes at 350. So the temp. and the amounts are all wrong. I should have thought of room temp. ingredients but I did not. Common sense said something was wrong so I tested three balls and they were dry and had no taste. I added more cheese, at least two Tbl of spicy brown mustard and a tsp of red pepper flakes to the very floury, pasty mixture to which I had added at least 2 T of water as well. I raised the tempt to 375, brushed the sheet pan with oil, salted and peppered the balls quite well and half way through I turned the balls. Eighteen minutes should do it. At 15, they were not brown. I don't hold much hope here, but fortunately my family liked anything dipped in mustard sauce. I did all of this and then came here to Google the recipe. Next time, I will check first, esp. when things just do not seem right."
