if you cook the flour in the grease itll make the roux where it wont taste like flour.. every good gravy is grease and flour based

This recipe is a definite "GO TO" if you want to impress with some good soulful down south cooking... Of course I change a thing here or there ( really just the flour amount to make more gravy and potatoes) but it is a MAJOR HIT EVERYTIME!!!! Everyone I have ever served this too has loved it and always requested more.... This smothered pork chop recipe...
