Reviewed Surf and Turf Burgers
"Awesome! My luncheon guest kept telling me she felt like she was a 5 star restaurant! Aaron likes "heat" so I toned that down, skipped the bacon but used the recipe as normal. It was hearty, lovely to look at and another use for shrimp! I tend to be pretty unoriginal in serving our favorite seafood - usually in a salad or in a cocktail. This was great and I will make it again!"
Reviewed Layered Cranberry Sauce
"Another big hit on Christmas Day. Easy, presents beautifully, and great balance with tart and sweet. I had requests to make it again!
Reviewed Holiday Horseradish Deviled Eggs
"Big Hit on Christmas Day! We do a brunch, and it is a nice way to add eggs to the menu. They have kick, so if your guests aren't spice lovers, warn them. The amazing is that my absolutely picky, picky granddaughter who would not eat a yolk if her life depended on it LOVED these! Easy and tasty...a win-win! Oh, yes I did follow the recipe, just half of the cayenne! :)
About Me
I am a city girl who ended up marrying a country boy, and have lived in Middle American Prairie Lands for over 17 years. I have learned to cook out of necessity, and it has gradually grown into a joy. I have learned so many practical things from Food Network, like cutting fruits & veggies easily, what appliances to use for what, etc. I am more of a cook than a baker, and I have really developed a talent for home made soups! I get requests all the time from individuals and for pot lucks. I am self-employed and sell antiques/collectibles online on three different sites. So I know about cooking/kitchen collectibles from our grandmother's day and past that! I entertain, and during the holidays I watch Food Network a lot for ideas and information!
