My Activity

Reviewed Old-Fashioned Apple Crisp

"I am really loving this recipe. I didn't add the orange or orange zest because I didn't have any in the house. I used a miscellaneous bag of varied apples, too. I did add a little vanilla, some cranberries into the apple mix, and some finely chopped walnuts I had laying around the house into the topping. I didn't do lemon zest, but I did add lemon juice, and I liked it. It wasn't overpowering at all. The slight tangy taste was great when mixed with the vanilla ice cream. I used 12 apples doubled the spices in the recipe and filled an entire casserole pan with the stuff. (That's because there are too many boys in my family and boy can they eat) They are gonna love this! I will definitely try this again with some canned peaches I have in the house and maybe some canned plums I have been trying to get rid of. I will let you know how that goes. Fantastic dessert....will definitely impress the relatives. "

Reviewed Cornish Pasties

"I had just gotten a recipe for cornish pasties from a family friend who has been making them since I was a child. I admit, his recipe is not a TRADITIONAL cornish pasty. However, I am not so interested in the EXACT recipe they used to use in Cornwall England as I am in taste. I remember the pasties of my childhood being a tad bland because they were not seasoned, except salt and pepper. I think a carrot and some garlic would be welcome. I will try adding both and the other spices suggested and see if this can be a convenient yet lively addition to my hubby's lunch. Will let you know what I find after actually making the recipe. I suggest the folks hating on this site do the same, then report back with what exactly was right or wrong with the taste. "These were fair, and These aren't traditional" just isn't specific enough.

Reviewed Creamy Squash Soup

"Delicious recipe. Super easy. Did need alot of extra spices. I used a bit of cinnamon, nutmeg. Someone suggested a bit of black pepper and someone else cayenne. I used both. Loved it. My hubby hates everything....everything. When I made this soup, he sniffed, pulled the bowl toward him, grunted and asked for more! That is definitely "man lingo" for a five star rating.

Reviewed Pumpkin Cheesecake

"Loved the recipe. Super easy. I used pre-fab graham cracker crusts, and it made two cheesecakes. Delicious. Mine did crack, but I don't mind a bit. I slathered the whole thing in cool whip, drizzled caramel over the top and sprinked finely chopped walnuts over the thing and put a strawberry in the middle, and it looked gorgeous! Don't worry about the crack. Just top the cheesecake in something fun. Tastes great!

Reviewed Pot sticker: Ginger pork

"Question all: Can you make the pot stickers without the Egg White? My hubby has an egg allergy, but I know he would just love this! Any egg white alternatives out there?
