Reviewed sunny's sage and pecan sweet potato casserole

Dec 27, 2014 on

Loved this recipe, especially the orange zest and sage. Made it for Christmas, and it was a big hit with my family. For past holidays, I've always made the Neeleys' Old School Sweet Potato Souffl, and I still think their recipe is amazing and will always be one of my favorites. I think that Sunny's savory recipe, however, is a bit better as a...

Dec 22, 2014 on

I've lived in the South my entire life but have never tried pimento cheese grilled. It's very tasty! I doubled this recipe, so I added quite a bit more mayo (as if it needed to be richer or more caloric). Loved the combination of cheeses. Added some garlic powder and red pepper flakes. Great with her tomato soup!

My family just loved this soup. I followed the recipe except I added garlic powder and used Half and Half. Her grilled pimento cheese sandwiches are great with this, too. The flavor was really good without adding sugar as some recipes do.

The name of this recipe is a perfect description! Made this dish for Thanksgiving and plan to make it again for Christmas. It's soooo good! I made a double recipe the day before Thanksgiving, and my family went berserk! Thanks to Jeff's Mom for this amazing recipe. Jeff, you make The Kitchen so much fun to watch!

Reviewed sunny's nunya business cranberry fluff pie

Nov 24, 2014 on

At first, I didn't understand about "draining" the cranberry sauce. On the show, I thought Sunny said that she strained it. I attempted to strain it, but there was hardly anything left. My whole cranberry sauce didn't have any juice to drain (Publix brand). Consequently, the pie didn't have very much flavor. My son bought another can for me,...

What a unique way to prepare collard greens! This recipe is wonderful, and my husband and I are southerners who have eaten greens all our lives. I just love Katie's healthy recipes. First time I saw her was on one of Paula Deen's shows. She's absolutely adorable! Love The Kitchen episodes--very entertaining!

Mar 14, 2014 on

My family thought this dish was fantastic! Meat was very tender and had great flavor. I found a ginger-sesame sauce made by The Ginger People at my Whole Foods in Georgia, but I couldn't find it anywhere else. The Ginger People makes a couple of other flavors, but the ginger-sesame made more sense. I love pork tenderloin and am happy to have this...

The peppers in this dish add such a unique flavor. I used rosemary as Ree did and followed the recipe exactly. This is so easy to prepare, fail-proof, and "to die for" delicious. Love Ree's episodes--she's amazing!

Reviewed Sunny's Easy Holiday Spiral Ham

Jan 6, 2014 on

What an amazing glaze! My spiral ham was so tasty, not dry at all, and so
much more flavorful and less expensive than those commercial Honey Baked Hams, etc. I think that Sunny's holiday ham recipe would be perfect any time of the year! It's great for breakfast and makes delicious sandwiches as well. My family loved it!

Reviewed Bacon-Wrapped Turkey Breast Stuffed with Pear Hash

Dec 5, 2013 on

This recipe was my first experience with brining. I made this recipe for Thanksgiving this year. Since I was inexperienced, I only brined the turkey breasts for three hours on Thanksgiving morning. I don't know if it was the brining or the bacon, but my family absolutely adored the turkey. Everyone said that it was the best turkey they had ever...

This dish is easy to prepare, very impressive, and absolutely wonderful. As some of the other reviewers suggested, next time I will use just dark meat (much more flavorful and moist in this particular recipe). Ina's recipes are consistently excellent."

I agree with the reviewers who felt that the cooking time was too long and the temperature too high. Unfortunately, I followed the recipe and didn't use a meat thermometer. The meat was practically burned! Paula's recipes usually are so good! I plan to try this again using the temperature/cooking time suggested by one of the other reviewers."

Thanks Bobby for this great, healthy recipe. Unlike the other reviewers, I found the brownies to be sweet enough plus moist and tasty. Although I don't have a medical concern with gluten, I do prefer a gluten- free diet. I just used brown rice flour and followed the recipe except for adding vanilla.
