Reviewed Chocolate Cherry Trifle
"This is both a beautiful and very tasty dessert and festive for the holidays! I found it took pretty long for the custard to thicken, about 20-25 minutes, just be patient! Also, I was able to find canned Glick's sour cherries at Whole Foods. I ended up having to make my own quick chocolate pound cake, I used a Food Network recipe for one that used yogurt to help keep things (barely) lighter. I found a YouTube video for this recipe after the fact and wished I would have seen it prior. Nigella makes her "jam sandwiches" with pretty thick slices and in retrospect it makes sense. Enjoy!!
