My Activity

Reviewed Baked Gruyere and Sausage Omelet

"Very easy recipe. I love the gruyere in this! I'm not particularly a huge fan of pork or turkey Italian sausage, so next time I will try a flavored chicken sausage. I like this recipe because of its versatility. This was definitely 6 servings for my family's portion sizes."

Reviewed Sweet and Sticky Caramel-Hazelnut Rolls

"The hazelnuts were a great change to a standard sticky bun! This was a very easy recipe to throw together. The most time consuming part of it was getting the skins off of the toasted nuts since I couldn't find husked hazelnuts.

The only thing I did not like about this recipe is that 8 rolls did not expand enough to cover the whole pie plate, and"

Reviewed Buttermilk Pie

"I had two issues with this pie.

1) I did not like the lemon flavor. This is just a personal preference. I wanted a buttermilk pie, not a lemon-buttermilk pie, and unfortunately there was just too much lemon for me. I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to simple desserts and I don't typically like adding extra flavors. Next time, I'll leave out the"

Reviewed Spinach and Ricotta Dumplings

"I made my gnudi almost a full 24 hours in advance and let them sit in the refrigerator on a lined baking tray with plastic wrap covering. The resting time in the refrigerator and keeping the water at a simmer allowed me to have little to no issues with the gnudi falling apart during cooking. I felt that there was a little bit too much spinach, so ""

Reviewed Roasted Acorn Squash and Garlic Mash

"I made this without the apple/leek topping... super simple recipe! And my veggie-hating boyfriend actually liked it. I grew up eating plain baked acorn squash with butter, so this was a great way for me to learn to prepare it differently.""

Reviewed Cheddar, Ham and Egg Casserole

"@Kneese5th
Of course a breakfast casserole would "work just fine" with texas toast and cream, but that is not the point of this recipe. It's purpose is to be a healthier alternative to what you mentioned. If you don't enjoy upping the fiber with English muffins, try thick-sliced whole wheat bread to mimic texas toast. Sogginess can also be avoided""

Reviewed Pumpkin Seeds

"Does anyone know if other squash seeds (acorn, spaghetti, butternut, etc) can be roasted with the same method?""

Reviewed Sesame Chicken With Snow Peas

"Really delicious! I'm in college and made this for a friend and she loved it! The recipe was very easy to follow. I used a sweet & hot chili sauce and would have liked a little more heat. Next time I'll use a spicier chili sauce like Sriracha. I also added an extra garlic clove. I really liked how much I could taste and smell the ginger. The only thing I would change about this would be adding some salt to the sauce. The chicken was slightly salty from being marinated in the soy sauce and I think it could have used a little extra saltiness. "
