I agree with other users that the recipe needed chili powder. I thought without it the tomato taste was too strong and it was bland to me. I added about 1 tsp garlic powder and 1 Tablespoon plus 2 1/2 teaspoons of chili power. I just kept adding until I got it right! I also simmered for about 3 hours and it thickened up a ton.
