Reviewed beef and cheddar casserole

Apr 29, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

First time around, it tasted a little bland and made an awful lot for the 3 of us. The second time, I added garlic and red pepper flakes. I made it into 2 casseroles and froze one. I baked the fresh one for 30 minutes and the frozen one for 50 minutes. Much better the second time around. I also used 80/20 meat and drained it for those who had questions...

I used lean ground pork instead of the fish and cooked the full 7 minutes the second time I made these. They were delicious both ways. Will definitely make again. "

I wrote the recipe down during the show and made it. It was delicious, and my family raved about it. Normally I don't like food cooked with wine, but I have to say this one was a hit with my family. My mom used to make a dish similar to this in the south and used apple cider vinegar and added a little sugar. She also broiled or grilled the chicken. We loved it, but I think I like this new version better. It is a lot less time consuming,"

Delicious, and perfect for cooking for 2. I added capers because they're shown in the photo and I like that pepperiness. Keep those recipes for 2 coming.

I tried this one today for brunch. Excellent!! My grandson thought they'd be good with pizza sauce, so I quickly heated up a jar of my home made canned sauce. All kids love pizza, so this was a hit as well as with the syrup. "
