My Activity

Reviewed Grandma Hiers' Carrot Cake

"Super easy and super yummy! I baked it in a 9x13 pan because I only had two 9" rounds so increased the cooking time to 50 minutes. Also, halved the frosting, because my husband doesn't like it too thick and omitted the nuts because I ran out after adding them to the cake batter. Also substituted canola oil for vegetable, as that's what I had avail"

Reviewed Potato Salad

"This salad is outstanding. I did only use half the wet ingredients (mayo/mustard), and it was plenty. Followed the recipe exactly otherwise, and even my 4-year-old nephew said it was good (capers and all). Try this!"

Reviewed Indian Summer Turkey Chili

"So easy and delicious! Used one package of super lean ground turkey and one regular, one red and one yellow pepper. Used half a bottle of mexican beer because that's what we had in the fridge. Topped it with a sprinkling of cheddar and onions and for me, extra hot sauce...Yum!"

Reviewed Homemade Tomato Soup

"My husband made this once exactly as written, but left it a little chunky, and it was delicious. I made it once using less oil and pureeing it more, and it was not as good. I agree that the amount of oil in this recipe and the low yield warrant revision. "

Reviewed Crab-Stuffed Mushrooms

"Very easy to make and oh so rich and delicious. Definitely a special occasion/holiday treat."

Reviewed Emeril's Shrimp and Pasta with Chilis, Garlic, Lemon and Green Onions

"Love this dish! The preparation is easy and the flavors are bright and fresh. Once you have your little supply of Essence on hand, the preparation is even quicker the next time. It's also easy to adjust the flavors to your liking, but I usually stay true to the recipe."

Reviewed Lasagna with Turkey Sausage

"Awesome! The little bit of goat cheese really adds something special. I've made this as written and with alterations, and it's always delicious."

Reviewed Chicken Tortilla Soup with Chipotle and Fire Roasted Tomato

"I can't count how many times I've made this soup, and it's amazing every time. I've never made any alterations other than to switch between smoked cheddar and smoked mozzarella. I did accidentally use fire roasted diced tomatoes once, rather than crushed, and the resulting soup was good, but not as amazing as it is ordinarily. I say, do this Racha"
