I'll admit I was a bit skeptical about this one but I gave it a shot and I'm glad I did. It really did taste like Thanksgiving! I used 1.25 lbs. of turkey instead of 2, I didn't use any celery and I left the apple cider out of the gravy because the store didn't have any. It really turned out good and this is a great dish I can make ahead of I n"

Aug 24, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

this turned out good!! I had brown instant rice on hand so I used that instead of the long grain rice. The trick to that is to use about 1/4 - 1/2 more rice than liquid when using instant brown rice. So when it called for 14oz of coconut milk + 1/3 cup water + 1/3 cup OJ I in turn used 16oz. rice + 3/4 cup rice. I also had honey roasted peanut...

My husband was quite surprised and pleased at how this turned out. I followed a lot of the previous advice and sauteed some onion and garlic before adding in the coconut milk & other ingredients. Thank goodness I believe in "taste as you go" b/c it needed salt, some sugar & some cornstarch to thicken it up. Unfortunately I forgot to mix the co...

This recipe was so good! Even my veggie hating hubby enjoyed it! I followed others advice below and seasoned the veggies a bit more before roasting with garlic powder and red pepper flakes. While they were roasting I grilled some chicken and in the last few minutes of cooking I added some sun dried tomatoes until they were heated through to add"

Reviewed Peanut Butter-Chocolate Chip-Bacon Cookies

May 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I agree that this didn't turn out as bacon-y as I would have liked. It needs more bacon flavor and a little less peanut butter flavor. Also the consistency is really crumbly and tough to work with. I will definitely try this again with a few modifications. "

This dish is great and I do it almost exactly as it says!! I cook a pound of ground beef with my onions and cayenne and it makes a great hearty casserole! Just remember to season with salt and pepper, especially season the rice. I don't think there's too much rice at all, and if you use sharp cheddar cheese it gives it a great flavor. Thanks Neelys...

My husband and I were both very impressed with this dish! It was a lot of prep, I'll admit... but it was so original and different than regular mac & cheese. It was definitely worth the effort for a special occasion type dinner. I recommend trying it! Especially if you have a nice dinner you'd like to prepare. I made this with Paula Deen's recipe...

Reviewed Oatmeal Cream Cheese Butterscotch Bars

These turned out really good! I used dried cranberries instead of the butterscotch and used only 1/2 cup of brown sugar and they were great! If you don't let these set in the fridge for at least a few hours they will be very crumbley. I let mine sit in the fridge over night and brought them to work the next day and only had a very little bit of...
