Reviewed Pan-Fried Trout
"Great recipe! I used tilapia instead of trout. It was very flavorful and citrusy. I liked the multiple layers of lemon that the recipe called for. I tried baking it in the oven the second time I made this, but I definitely found the pan-fried in olive oil method to be tastier and a better texture. The oven-baked fish became soggy after adding"
Reviewed Chicken in Pumpkin-Ancho Mole Sauce
"This recipe sounded amazing on t.v., but I was a little disappointed. In my opinion, the cilantro killed it. I think this recipe has a chance at being good if you leave the cilantro out of the sauce. You may feel differently if you absolutely love cilantro. I've always been neutral about the herb, but I don't think it has a place in a recipe for""
Reviewed Chicken and Mushroom Goulash with Gnocchi
"I agree with another reviewer that this is a nice base recipe just to get the technique and basic flavors of goulash while adding the vegetables and spices of your choice. I used ground beef instead of chicken and radiatore pasta instead of gnocchi. After reading several reviews that said this recipe was a little bland, I added garlic powder, on""
Reviewed Jerk Chicken with Habanero-Mint Glaze and Mango Relish
"I only made the jerk rub, and I thought it was fantastic! Spicy, smoky, deep flavor. It was also very easy to put together. I had most of the ingredients in my spice cabinet already. I wasn't making 32 ounces of chicken, but I still made the rub with the measurements as given and saved the remainder in a jar for next time. I imagine it would ""
Reviewed Sunny's Fish Escovitch
"It seemed that the pickled topping is really what was supposed to make the flavor the dish, since the fish itself is only seasoned with salt, pepper and lime. I wasn't very impressed, though I like many of Sunny's recipes. I even added a julienned jalapeno to give the pickled veggies a little kick, but still found it lacking in spice and flavor. ""
Reviewed Churros
"These were good, but I agree with some of the other reviewers that the dough wasn't quite what I was expecting for churros. I felt it was slightly too dense, neither fluffy nor crunchy enough. I might try adding a little baking soda next time if I try it again. ""
Reviewed Sardinian Sugo
"It was pretty good, but the flavor wasn't quite as bold as I expected it to be after hearing her talk on the show about how "spicy" and "big flavored" the recipe was. If you're really into spicy food like I am and can handle some heat, you might want to add more red pepper flakes and maybe some cayenne pepper as well. Also, it wasn't as thick and hearty as I felt a pasta sauce should be. I even added a couple of spoonfuls of pasta cooking water to thicken it. Overall, it was still a great meal. I would just make a few adjustments next time, including kicking up the spice factor a few notches.
Reviewed Thai Red Curry Mac 'n' Cheese
"I was highly unimpressed and disappointed with this recipe. It sounded different, spicy, and exotic. However, it was extremely bland. I felt that the curry paste added nothing to the recipe. It was just a waste of a trip to the store to get it. I may as well have omitted it and made regular macaroni and cheese and because that's all it tasted like. In fact, I have made regular mac-and-cheese using a similar technique before, which was much more flavorful. Sorry Aarti.
