I should have gone w/my instincts, thinking that 450 for a boneless leg that roasts over an hour seemed too long. But Ina's recipes have been reliable so I followed the cooking time direction. When I checked after one hour, the lamb was 180 degrees. Ruined. Although I did not cook it on top of potatoes, I don't think that made a difference. "

The simple ingredients don't sound as if it would combine to make a really fabulous sandwich, but believe me, it is Fabulous! I first made it for my husband for a road trip and he called from the car to say it was delicious. And I've rec'd the same response every time.
I'm making the peppers today but using them to include in an antipasta...
