Reviewed Creamy Stove-top Mac and Cheese

Jan 5, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

Absolutely delicious! This is my new Mac and Cheese recipe. Didn't have the required cheeses so I grated a combo of 8 oz of very sharp cheddar and 4 oz of sharp cheddar. Did 1 cup of heavy cream and 1 cup of 1 percent milk. I topped with a little bit of reserved cheese and baked in a casserole dish for about 15 min at 350. Served with buffalo...

Thanks for posting this :) My daughter is gluten intolerant and I am always trying to find dishes that are equally good to those that I prepare for the rest of the family.

Made it with blueberries and topped off with whipped cream. It was good but didn't knock my socks off. Maybe next time I should try it with ice cream.

Reviewed Potato, Orange and Arugula Salad

Jan 10, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Didn't have a few things on hand so...substituted white balsamic for the champagne vinegar; red potatoes for the babies and fresh mozzarella for the gorgonzola. That being said it was still very good. Never would have thought of putting roasted potatoes in a salad but we enjoyed it."

I agree with another review that it was a little bland. I also added a few red pepper flakes. I had some arugula in the fridge that I didn't want to go bad so I added it as well. Sort of like a greens and beans appy. Hearty and tasty. Might even add a little grated cheese next time."

Reviewed Orange Coffee Cake

Enjoying as I write this. Cut back on granulated sugar and added a little more walnut, zest and orange juice. I am glad I did as this is a very sweet (but delicious) cake. Easy too!""

Reviewed Turkey Lettuce Wraps

Made these yesterday for the family while we watched the Giant's game. Great football food! Not a fan of ground turkey so I used ground chicken. Wow, these were fantastic. Used half as much of the Srirachi Sauce. Thought we were eating take out from PF Changs! Paired it with Sunny Anderson's Triple A Salad. Will definitely make these again...

Reviewed Pork Chops with Golden Apple Sauce

Dec 8, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Not generally a pork chop eater but wanted to try something different. Chops were tender and juicy. The pan sauce is a nice compliment to the meat and apple sauce. I also used dried cherries instead of raisins in the apple sauce as did the previous reviewer. Served a side of egg noodles with butter, grated cheese and asparagus tips. Very goo...

Wanted a late night sweet snack and whipped this up in minutes. Added baking soda and powder, and substituted butter for oil as suggested. Yummy with whipped cream on top. Reminded me of a yankee doodle cup cake. May make individual mugfuls next time, let cool and add icing. :)"

Reviewed Limoncello and Lemon Cream Fruit Tart

Jul 29, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Made this after a barbeque during our recent heat wave. Lemon flavors were delicious and refreshing. Didn't have heavy cream on hand so I substituted half as much 1/2 and 1/2. Texture was fine. Also, used the individual sponge cakes so we were able to make fresh servings again the following day. My family loved it and I will make this again."

Reviewed Apricot Nectarine Shortcake with Vanilla Whipped Cream

Apr 3, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Made this today after Sunday dinner. Yum:) I used 2 large nectarines and a handful each of blueberries and sliced strawberries. Forgot to sprinkle sugar on top of shortbread cakes when baking so I gave a light sprinkle of powdered sugar before adding warm fruit and whipped cream. We loved it! Will definitely make this again. Will be even better...

Just finished making these for my holiday party tonight. I used the crescent dough instead of the pie crust and regular swiss cheese instead of gruyere. Yum, they are delicious! My only other variation is that I sprinkled a little parsley on top for color. Can't wait to eat them! Will make them again:)
