Reviewed Meatballs a la Pizzaiola

"I didn't care for these but wonder if I did something wrong. I thought that they were very dense and not very flavorful. I followed the recipe exactly except I didn't deep fry them, I baked them at 375 for 12 minutes. Any thoughts?"
