"Okay WOW! Every single year for the past 5 years I have tried a new way of making turkey in the hopes that I too might have a juicy yummy heap of pretty meat to display on my table and every year I have failed and had to apologize to everyone for dry meat. Not this year baby! I followed this recipe to a T with my 17 lb fresh turkey, I brined my turkey for about 20 hours ahead of time and the end result was aaaaaaammmmmmmazing! My turkey was practically oozing clear juices everywhere, it was the furthest possible thing from my previous annual turkey-of-the-Sahara experiences. I wanted to cry. So people, try this recipe, your families will love you for it.

"I made the recipe exactly as stated and I was a little underwhelmed. I wanted to love this and reading the recipe I completely thought I would but.... it was kind of bland all things considered. Maybe the roux blanded (yes I know that is not a word) it up for me, I dunno. BUT, I did absolutely love the mushroom mix and making my own fried onions to go on top was also very yummy.
