Reviewed Baked French Toast Casserole with Maple Syrup

"Not what I was expecting, very soggy and mushy. I followed recipe perfectly except I drained the excess egg mixture in the morning. I made this thinking it was an awesome version of French toast... Not the case at all. Should be renamed as French toast pudding casserole... It's essentially a bread pudding."

Reviewed Best Cream of Broccoli Soup

"A bit bland at the start, but easy to tweak. I used lots of fresh grated sharp cheddar, added salt and I was surprised the recipe did not call for any salt. By the time I was done.. I loved it. Reviewed Beer Cheese Soup with Garlic Butter Crostini

"First... I love the Sandwich King!

So, I was watching this episode and I just happen to have all the ingredients except for gruyere cheese. I substituted some parmesan cheese to cut back the sharpness of the cheddar.

This recipe is AWESOME!! Thanks SK! It is a keeper. Keep up the good work.

Reviewed Old-Time Beef Stew

"First, this is a fantastic recipe. Some people here are ridiculous, giving it 4 stars because they "tweaked" it. Everyone here tweaks recipes including this one. I added potatoes like most people and added peas. As for liquid, I think there is plenty of liquid, I thing some people here are simmering this recipe too high and boiling away the juices. I think the key ingredient is the worcheister sauce and all spice, those ingredients I have not used in previous stews, but it added a nice kick. Also, use quality meat, it makes a huge difference in any stew or dish. When you simmer meat for 1.5 hours, it should be tender, if it is not, the meat is poor quality.

About Me

I just like cooking, it is so relaxing. I like to read a dozen recipes before I settle on one. You can tell a lot by just looking at the ingredients.
