My Activity

Reviewed Cream of Tomato Soup

"This was such a great idea. So Easy. You can be creative with ingredients to match your mood or dinner theme...I used Classico Italian Sausage Sauce, Fresh garlic, chicken stock (instead of water) half and half (instead of heavy cream) , Italian seasoning, salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle the top with fresh grated parmesan Romano cheese and served with grilled cheese sandwiches. I will use this again...so much better then the canned tomato soup from the grocery store.. Both my husband and I LOVED it.

Reviewed Cheddar Beer Soup

"This was such an easy recipe... I had no problems...and my husband loved it. I had seen the show this morning and couldn't wait to make it. I altered it a little bit cause I didn't have the exact ingredients but it turned out delicious. I used pre-shredded cheddar/jack blend cheese, and I only had a lighter beer then the dark. Also, instead of the garlic infused oil I used EVOO and fresh chopped garlic...and it tasted great. One of the previous reviewers mentioned theirs was greasy...I imagine adding a little more flour to the roux would solve that problem. I loved how quick and easy this was to make...served it with Bangers and Bread. Awesome

About Me

My husband and I have a 3 suite bed and breakfast. We work seven days a week. Fortunately we love it. We make breakfast everymorning for our guests and so far haven't had any complaints. I love to watch the food network (a junkie really) I am inspired by the chefs and the programs. My favorites are (all of them but a few off the top of my head are...) Paula Deen, Alton Brown, Gaida, and I just discovered the 5 Ingredient Fix.... I am inspired to cook by the colors, aromas, and the "MMMMM" that people "ooze" when they eat my food.

Favorite Foods

My Favorite Dish to cook is - almost anything...it is all good....anything with butter, bacon, or cream is good...mind you I don't eat that way everyday. I am famous for my Savoury Dutch Baby, Cheesy Scrambled Eggs, and "sandie" cookies (like pecan sandies with out the pecans) during the holidays.

I have recently discovered that I am Gluten and Dairy intolerant, as well as other food allergies. So I have had to learn a lot about cooking and eating with out dairy, flour, sugar and many meats....I am discovering many new food favorites a long this food journey. Some of them are pickled Asparagus, marinated artichoke hearts, mushrooms, olives, tofu... I have made a few soups or salads with some of the these simple ingredients... not what I ever imagined liking. And now I am thankful for them.
