My Activity

Reviewed Roasted Shrimp Cocktail

"For lizmcveyjones, you don't need to put them in a cooler on the way to the party. You can just wrap the tray of shrimp well in aluminum foil and put them in the trunk of your car or the back of your van, since they seem to taste better at room temperature rather than cold. It's also cold where you live (we live in a suburb of Chicago), so they don't need to be put in a cooler for the trip.

Reviewed Roasted Shrimp Cocktail

"We made 8 lbs. of this shrimp for our big family Thanksgiving this year, and within five minutes of the tray being put on the appetizer table, people were asking for the recipe! They wanted to know what we did to the shrimp to make it taste so spectacular!

For Leviathan, we also cannot tolerate real hot/burning foods, so we used all of the horseradish called for but substituted just a little Louisiana Hot Sauce for the Tabasco. (We find even a little Tabasco to be too hot for our taste.) It had great flavor and gave a little warmth at the back of the throat but definitely no burning. We also made the sauce a few hours ahead of time which allowed the flavors to blend nicely.

Reviewed Maple Roasted Sweet Potatoes

"My husband loves vegetables but hates sweet potatoes and wouldn't try them in any form...until we made this dish together. It was spectacular and he couldn't stop eating them! The only change we made was to add a few pats of butter at the end when we combined the sweet potatoes with the carmalized shallots. It was the perfect finishing touch to an already spectacular dish! You won't regret trying this one!!
