Reviewed fried ravioli

May 21, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

These definitely were easy, but a real disappointment. They weren't special, but rather dry and lacking in flavor. If I wasn't throwing a party, I might have had time to experiment with the seasoning. I thought these would be a slam dunk as I've seen them featured on the food network site many times. Not Giada's best performance. I'd avoid this...

Reviewed shrimp-pineapple skewers

May 21, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

This was the grossest thing I have cooked in quite a long time. I am an experienced home cook. And between the 3 slippery and slimy ingredients- it was literally impossible to skewer shrimp, pineapple and bacon. It didn't work. What I managed to stick in the oven and cook- now THATS enough to make me mad. Everything fell apart and off the skewer...

Reviewed Charleston Cheese Dip

Dec 31, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

I really wanted to like this easy-to-make appetizer. It wasn't what I'd hoped for. It was literally too 'cheesy' and so rich that it wasn't something you'd want to eat more than one bite of. I won't be making this again.

Reviewed Slow Cooker Macaroni and Cheese

Dec 31, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

I made this for dinner for 7 kids and we were all underwhelmed. The crunchy topping is missing when making slow cooker mac and cheese...and the pasta got mushy from cooking for so long. It had a strange texture as well- even though I grated my own cheese as Trisha advised. I will not be making this again.

Reviewed Cheesy Hash Brown Casserole

Aug 8, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

i didnt use all of the peppers (just jalapeno) because I wanted my kids to eat this! I also couldn't find diced hash browns at my market, so I used shredded. This was a HUGE success. My kids and I devoured it! I think I could've cooked it longer and it would have gotten yummier and crispier too. WINNER!!"

Reviewed Chicken Fried Pork Chops with Chunky Pear Chutney

Dec 14, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These were amazing, and it's because of the pear chutney! What a hit!! to save calories, you could grill the chops and not bread them etc...but they were extremely moist and super delicious so I'd try it the way Sunny says to do it first! ""

Reviewed Calamari Stew with Garlic Toast

Oct 16, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

i personally loved this dish, but NONE of my 3 kids were able to eat it as it really REALLY tasted of raw wine flavors. perhaps cooking it longer and really boiling out the wine taste before adding the calamari wouldve worked? I was apologizing through the entire meal""

Reviewed Shrimp Scampi with Linguini

Sep 25, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

this was underwhelming...the flavors were bland so i recommend bumping up the volume with more garlic or butter or sherry??? FLAT""

Reviewed Fish and Chips

Jan 20, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

this was SUPER FANTASTIC AWESOME!!! I had to hunt in the market to find the rice flour, but now that I know what that is...i won't forget. My children LOVE LOVE LOVED it and fought over the last pieces! I served it diner style in those cute plastic trays that you get at a fish n' chips place on parchment paper. We had a blast eating it and i'm...

Reviewed Roasted Tomato Soup with Croutons

Jan 20, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I have made this soup a dozen times at least, and my family LOVES IT!! I always roast the tomatoes with the garlic, tossed in oil and balsamic, and it's easy and DELICIOUS!! My youngest child is a picky fruit/veg eater, and this is literally his FAVORITE dinner!!! It's healthy and amazing!

Reviewed Green Goddess Dressing over Iceberg Wedges

Jan 20, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

this was really BAD. It tasted so flat, I kept adding salt, tabasco, and whatever else I could to try to get something decent but no such luck. All 3 of my children expressed a distaste for it, but the youngest blew me away when he actually said "you know, this kind of tastes like soap"

Reviewed Teriyaki-Glazed Pork Spare Ribs

Jan 20, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I wish I'd read the reviews before I wasted an evening making these ribs...OH MY GOSH IT WAS INEDIBLE!!! half a cup of chinese 5 spice powder??? If this is a typo, which I believe it is, than the food network owes me $16.00! I totally agree with the other reviews, the salt curled my hair, and i had guests over! No one could eat it, and ESPECIALLY...

Reviewed BBQ Pork Fried Rice

Jan 20, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

this didn't taste enough like restaurant-style pork fried rice and therefore my kids didn't enjoy it. I think the red peppers could be omitted and that would help, and it was kind of mushy (which may have been my fault)

Reviewed My Mother's Chicken with Barbeque Sauce

Jan 20, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

this was VERY tangy/spicy...almost too much. My 3 kids didn't enjoy the potency of the sauce, I felt that it was overwhelming for me as well, and I LOVE spicy foods

this definitely didn't come out like the photo...with all the layers...so don't make it for 'show'. It tastes fantastic, yet i have to say the dessert is REALLY crubmly and doesn't hold it's shape like a 'bar'...you need to eat it with a fork in a bowl.

Nov 13, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

these waffles came out rather soggy...i tried to cook it longer and shorter, but overall my kids did not enjoy this particular waffle recipe. For ALL the bowls I had to wash, it wasn't worth it.

Reviewed Cuban-style Burgers on the Grill

Oct 27, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

This was AMAZING! I did in on a grill pan, and weighted the foil wrapped-sandwiches w/ a heavy pot. Go to the trouble of roasting the garlic and adding it to the mayo, IT WORTH IT! My children gobbled these up...this will be a new staple in our family
