Great dish. I have made it with and without the bacon, and it is great either way. Definitely a keeper! The only tricky thing I have found is that if you make it ahead of time and reheat it, you have to be careful - it tends to get soupy rather suddenly on occasion."

Being from Savannah, I can tell you that no boiled peanut stand serves them this salty. Definitely add the salt gradually, maybe starting with 1/4 or 1/2 cup, until you get up to the amount of salt that you like.
