Reviewed gorgonzola spinach artichoke dip

Jun 6, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

I was really excited for this recipe because of all the great reviews, but was a little disappointed. The flavor of the gorgonzola was overpowering, and I couldn't really taste anything else (like the nutmeg). The consistency was fine though (I followed the recipe exactly- you have to wring out the veggies really well). If I made this again, I would...

A good basic recipe, but there was way too much bell pepper, and not enough cucumber and tomato, so the ratios of the veggies was a little off for me. Also, the dressing was good, but not amazing (too much vinegar). Would try this again, but with slight modifications.

Excellent- delicious and super easy. If you're looking for a quick dessert that looks like it took a lot more effort, these brownies are fantastic. You can use instant coffee instead of espresso, but I doubled the coffee amounts- great, rich flavor. Yum!

Reviewed Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

Nov 26, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

Delicious! Very moist, cake like cookies. As per other reviews, I increased the pumpkin by 1/2 cup and TRIPLED the spices. Sounds like a lot, but the cookies were flavorful and a big hit! They would have been bland as written...

Reviewed Pasta and Beans: Pasta e Fagioli

Oct 31, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

This was delicious and I cannot believe how quickly it came together! Literally 45 all in including chopping vegetables. I followed the recipe exactly (omitting the pancetta since we were looking for a vegetarian version) and the proportions of broth, veggies, and pasta were perfect - it's a very hearty thick winter soup, just like pasta fagioli...

Reviewed Hummus For Real

Good base, but VERY bland as written. Tripled the garlic, lemon juice, and salt, and added half a jalapeno to give it any discernible flavor."

Reviewed Tomatillo Cheddar Cornbread

Jan 30, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was ok (correct texture), but not wonderful. It was pretty bland, and you could not taste the salsa or cheese. Also, it was a bit dry for our liking. Next time, I would add more butter, jalapenos, and increase the amount of cheese. Will probably keep looking for a better cornbread recipe, unfortunately!"

Reviewed Vegetarian Chili

This chili came out great and was delicious! I'm a vegetarian and my husband is definitely a carnivore, and we both loved it. I followed the recipe almost exactly and used all fresh ingredients (except corn, which was frozen), and you could taste the quality of the vegetables. Also, we like very flavorful and spicy food, and I usually have to d"

Reviewed Leek Potato Soup

Mar 11, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Delicious! So easy to make. 1 tip - I cut the recipe in half, and the cooking time for the leeks as well as the potatoes was about half as well.

Used 2% milk instead of buttermilk (but kept the cream), and it was still super creamy and rich. May try the milk and half & half instead of heavy cream next time!""

Reviewed Fettuccine Alfredo

Nov 20, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I was really excited to try this recipe, and while it tasted good, I have to say that it separates easily - after putting the sauce into the noodles, I could see the cheese and butter separating in the pan almost immediately.

Also, added lots of garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to give it some flavor.""
