FN really needs a COMMENT SECTION that does not rate a recipe. Knowing what milk is does not make a person an expert deserving bad mouthing by you. Your comments didn't rate a recipe EITHER!!!!...

I don't think a scale is really necessary. My mother and grandmother used cooking measurements: 1 cup, 1 tablespoon, or 1 cup plus a teaspoon, 1 tablespoon plus a pinch etc. Why can't Alton write recipes using standard cooking tools. His high and mighty "scientific crap" is annoying and very offensive.
