"I love this dish. Made it twice so far - once I cut the thigh bones, the other time I didn't. I can't believe I almost skipped out on putting the tomatoes on this. They are my favorite part with the garlic breadcrumbs...mmmm yum!
Once I used thick bacon and another time I used turkey bacon which was just as yummy and less greasy. The northern beans in this dish are really awesome - my kids loved them! They seem to soak up the flavors of the pot.
