My Activity

Reviewed Tres Leche Cake

"Love Alton's recipes but this one missed the bar in a few places. The cake was a bit too dense and it way too sweet even after using half of the sugar in the frosting. Maybe beating the egg whites to make a fluffier cake and cutting the sugar in the cake as well. I added cinnamon which added a great flavor. Not the best Tres Leche cake I've ha"

Reviewed Brownie Rubble

"Perfect for the chocolate lover but a little decadent for the average dessert goer. I added a tablespoon of instant expresso to the batter to enhance the chocolate flavor and since I had extra coconut and pecans left over from christmas baking I threw that on top (minus the peanuts). The brownie recipe is spot on, easy and very delicious. ""

Reviewed Chicken Pot Pie

"Really good recipe but I had to give it only four stars for the sheer fact it lacked potatoes! I cut the recipe in half and added 1 cup of potatoes and it easily made four individual pot pies."

Reviewed Herbed Quinoa

"This was my first time making quinoa and I loved the grain but the recipe is just ok. First I'm glad I cut it in half because I still ended up with four nice sized portions. Reviewed Grandma's Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie

"This was by far the best strawberry rhubarb pie I've ever made/had. The flavors were perfect together. I did omit the top pie crust and make my own crumb topping but the filling is a must try!"

Reviewed Spicy Beef Kebabs

"Made the recipe exactly how it's written and it was great. Simple and easy."

Reviewed Churros With Coconut Sauce

"The sauce was very tasty but a bit gooey. The dough came out good but didn't taste like the traditional churros I've had. Good, but I'm going to keep searching for a great churro recipe. Foodnetwork seems to be lacking when it comes to Mexican recipes."

Reviewed Hollandaise

"Easy hollandaise for eggs benedict or steamed artichokes. Wonderful, balanced taste every time."
