Reviewed Mexican Rhubarb Chocolate Chunk Brownies

Apr 14, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

OMG! So good! The tartness of the rhubarb went great with the dark chocolates. I couldn't find New Mexico chile powder, so I used a combo of Ancho and a little cayenne. Can't wait to make it again!"

Oct 16, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was a very convenient soup to make. I missed the part about the garlic oil in the magazine, so I didn't have that. But I did add onions, rotisserie chicken, and chicken stock concentrate at the beginning (my husband seems to think he might waste away if it doesn't have "meat" in it and I would be eating it by myself otherwise) Would definitel"

I had this at a party this weekend, and the roasting of the tomatoes before hand really added both flavor and a nice texture..... can't wait to have this again while tomatoes are in season.

This was delicious! We pared it down for a 6lb turkey breast, and the brine kept it very moist. My husband smoked it with hickory. Will definitely make again!"

Reviewed Oat Waffle

Apr 22, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I like to make a bunch in advance and freeze them for my daughter's breakfast, so I was happy to find a healthy version. I did weigh my dry ingredients since I happen to have a scale....I did burn the oatmeal the first time and had to go back to the store for more....so I skipped the toasting and went right to the grinder. Turned out great!"

Dec 11, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I really like the glaze on the pork, and it all makes great leftovers for work. I put mushrooms, tofu and edamame, with green onions and red peppers. I did cook the eggs separate and added them at the end. Will definitely make again!

Reviewed Pork-Bean Chili With Corn Dumplings

Nov 27, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This had good flavor, but I was disappointed in the dumpling. Maybe freezing the dumplings? or have some kind of binder to hold them together like a regular dumpling. I would try making them different next time, they kind of fell apart in the soup. Otherwise I followed it just as it said. It really does make a ton of soup. ""

Reviewed Mulled Wine

Nov 20, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was my first go at mulled wine and I enjoyed it. I read the reviews and cut do thrwn the honey to 1/2 cup, as I don't like really sweet wine. I almost could cut it down more or leave it out altogether. I felt like all those spices gave it a sweet tone all it's own. Peppercorns gave it a good heat in the back of the throat. I did also just pu...

We really loved these. The beans were nice and al dente, not soggy. The mushrooms, even if you aren't a fan, give it the "cream of mushroom soup flavor". and the onions on top were better than the greasy canned ones. (Goes great with Alton's turkey fyi........)""

Nov 1, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

this is one recipe we all can agree on in our house. we serve it with maple syrup, so I guess that gives us our sweetness factor. So good with chili! and it does look cool in the iron skillet""

Reviewed Family Favorite Salad with Homemade Ranch Dressing and Croutons

Oct 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was a very good dressing, quite herbacous. It is on a little of the garlicky side, 5 cloves raw is quite a bit. I like garlic, but my daughter thought it tasted like it was "burning" her tongue. And yes, I would go a little less milk for a thicker dressing. ""

Reviewed Beefy Butternut Squash Chili

Oct 25, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The ingredients were so interesting I had to try it. And I did like it. The squash kind of dissolves in your mouth, so if you aren't a big squash fan (and I really am) you won't really notice the chunks once you take a bite. I added extra broth, black beans and tomatoes because I can't help not added those things to my soup most of the time. Grea...

Very hot and spicy! But I liked it and would make it again, but with less zucchini and more chicken stock. I think my zucchini were on the large size, and 3 was too much. I also had bought the chicken already boneless so prob had more than I would have otherwise, also requiring more stock. "
