"You aren't supposed to use COOKIES, mint-flavored or otherwise, in the middle. You are supposed to use a CANDY WAFER!! I have had the original 1950's recipe for over 40 yrs. and I got it from my mom' recipe files. That is a homemade sugar cookie recipe because they didn't have store-bought oookie dough back then.
