Reviewed Broccoli-Cheddar Soup

Jan 20, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Although this is NOT your typical broccoli-cheddar soup (which I'm a HUGE fan of) I absolutely loved the flavor and velvety texture that the potatoes bring. I did use both the sweet and russet. The only changes I made were to fry a few strips of bacon for garnish and saute the onions in the bacon drippings instead of using olive oil. I also ski"

This was simple and delicious!!! I'm not a big fan of vinegar, but I loved everything about this and might even add more next time.""

I love this recipe! I put in only half the herbs and doubled the recipe as well as the roux because I wanted it a little thicker. It turned out delicious! W/half the herbs it was great with none of them overpowering the dish. And, I do agree with everyone else that Rachael seemed really tired (or sick?) in this episode..she is usually much per"

I usually like Claire's recipe and I'm a huge fan of her show...but this recipe was awful! I eyeballed the rice wine vinegar (I bought garlic flavored, as she suggested) and it was still so overpowering that I couldn't add anything to it to dull the taste. (I added a TON of extra peanut butter, soy sauce, etc) Will not make this recipe again."

Reviewed Grilled Lemon Chicken

Jun 11, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was a simple and delicious way to jazz up chicken! We only marinated it for 3 hours (in a plastic storage bag instead of in a bowl), so I was worried that the thighs we used wouldn't absorb the flavors...but they sure did!! We baked them instead of grilling them and then still turned out wonderful! I would use a touch less lemon next time,"

I was excited to make this after watching the episode. I marinated the chicken for about half an hour and then cooked it. The flour did not brown on the chicken so even though the chicken was cooked through, it was still white. The chicken had "ok" flavor..tasted more of oranges than anything, which was disappointing. I think I'll use this recipe...

Awesome biscuits that reminded me of Red Lobster biscuits! I used Bisquick and added in some extra garlic because we're garlicaholics in my house. Very simple and quick to make!"

My family and I loooove this recipe. The only changes I made were to add potatoes into the roasting pan w/the chicken and onions andi only used about half the recommended amount of lemon. I'm usually not too fond of lemon flavored anything, but next time I think I'll use the whole recommended amount because it was great! I doubled the gravy recipe...

I love Ina's recipes..but this wasn't my favorite. It turned out a little too runny to be considered a chowder (I followed the directions exactly), and it was just missing that "something" that would've made it a hit."

My 5 yr old and I followed this recipe almost exactly (I ran the pecans thru our food processor so they weren't so chunky). It was delicious (maybe a tad sweet)! The cake batter does not cook up like a cake, so it's more of a cobbler, but it's super easy and tasty! Will definitely make this again w/other fruit combos!"

HUGE hit with my family! The only thing I might change would be to slow-cook the meat. It seemed a bit tough after being browned and cooked w/the sauce (and I even tenderized it first myself). Otherwise, it's a perfect meal to make in a time crunch and tastes way more complicated than it is."
