My Activity

I have no recent activity to share.

About Me

on hiatus right now...managed a restaurant for a few years, love cooking...have aspirations to be a chef someday...but by profession, a middle-school teacher right now. Still have to go back to school and get my masters before becoming a full-fledged teacher. Pet peeves---snooty people, ethnocentric people, and people who take themselves too seriously all the time.

Favorite Foods

wow, this is a toughie...really sweet ripe melon with prosciutto; old-fashioned home-made mac'n'cheese with southern fried chicken, collard greens, and biscuits; chilean sea bass and toro sashimi; ca kho to; Thai-style chicken with chili and holy basil (this kind of basil only found locally--differnt from sweet and italian basil); bagel with belly lox and cream cheese; ben & jerry's and godiva icecream; bibimbap and radish kimchi; fresh tofu, vegetables, and fish in any dish in Chinese cuisine. seared foiegras paired with a well-balanced fruit sauce and a fabulous ice wine; a rib-eye done pittsburgh style (for non-beef eaters, that's charred on the outside, beautifully bloody rare on the inside.) A perfectly ripe mango, plum, bartlett pear; cherries from the northwest of the U.S.; traditional english trifle; perfect al dente pasta. THat's my short answer--and that's just for today. now if you'll excuse me, i have to take a lunch break.
