I made this tonight (8/24/14), and it was PERFECT! Wouldn't change a THING...except omitted the hot sauce. My boyfriend and I are wimps in the spicy category :-)

Reviewed (Copycat) Chi Chi's Cornbread

Dec 4, 2013 in null on Food.com

This is exactly like the Chi Chi';s Sweet Corn Cake that I remember! They used to give you a little scoop of it with most entrees, and I loved it. So glad to have found this recipe! I used an 8 1/2 x 11 casserole dish, and baked it for an extra 15 minutes or so. This is going into my recipe file, thanks for a great recipe!"

I made these today, but the time is a bit too long, like others have said. I have a couple of slightly overdone batches, but have changed the time to 12 minutes, rotating the cookies after 6. We really like these. I'm not sure why Alton says to only place six cookies on a sheet. It's taking a really long time to bake them this way, and there's still...

Reviewed Seasoned Tater-Tots

Oct 27, 2013 in null on Food.com

I made these tonight, and we really liked them! I only used 1/2 a bag of Tater Tots, and didn';t use the garlic powder or Italian seasoning. Instead, I used 1 teaspoon of chili seasoning, and 1 teaspoon of taco seasoning. Baked them for 18 minutes, and served with Taco Biscuit Bake. Thanks for sharing :-)"

I've made this twice now, and it remains one of my favorite dishes. The key to this dish, in my opinion of course, is to puree the sauce just before you add the cream. I let it cool for about 10 to 15 minutes, then puree it in a blender, or use an immersion blender. It makes a huge difference."

Reviewed Root Beer Baked Beans

Sep 1, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made these tonight, as a side dish with our hamburgers and corn on the cob. My boyfriend and I love baked beans; we usually just buy the canned ones. He didn't like these, but I did. I couldn't find garam masala at our local grocery store, so I found a recipe to make my own. I only needed to purchase two of the seven spices (coriander and cardam"

We loved these sandwiches! Had them tonight, actually. Used the King';s Hawaiian Hamburger Buns, which are a little on the sweet side, and marinated the chicken in Soy Vay Island Teriyaki for 2 hours. We took the suggestion of adding a slice of provolone cheese on top of the pineapple. Delicious!! We served with corn on the cob and pineapple....

We really enjoyed this recipe, but it was a bit too lemony for our taste. I didn't even end up using the lemon zest; plenty of lemon flavor without it. I added a bit more parmesan to counteract the lemon flavor, probably 1 cup total. But we really liked it. I used fettuccine, as that's what I had in the house. I'll probably make it again, decreasi"

I absolutely love Ina! I own 4 of her cookbooks, and refer to them often. That being said, however, I didn't love this dish. Many of her recipes take time to make, but are worth every minute in the end. This was not worth the time and effort, in my opinion. It is an incredibly rich lasagna, but just "okay"...nothing really exciting about it. I'll...
