Reviewed Waffles

Feb 9, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These were fine, but there are other recipes on this site that are tastier. The batter didn't really rise in the iron for me causing the waffles to not cook evenly. This also made for a denser waffle. Maybe I did something wrong, but even the flavor wasn't anything special."

Reviewed Chicken Salad Sandwiches

This was tasty. More on the tangy side of chicken salad than sweet. I think next time I will go with something more on the waldorf side of the spectrum featuring craisins and apples."

Reviewed Waffle of Insane Greatness

Jan 12, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These were delicious, but I wouldn't call them insane greatness. Our waffle iron makes 4 waffles at a time and I have 2 extremely hungry little boys so doubling the recipe was a must. You also don't need to let the mix rest for 30 minutes. If you mix all of the ingredients and then turn on your iron, that should be plenty of time. Don't forget"

Reviewed Shrimp Po' Boy with Horseradish Remoulade

Dec 9, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Loved the horseradish remoulade; it made the sandwich. Wish we had better rolls in the area for the sandwich because that is what makes a po' boy even better. Everyone in the family enjoyed this including my 2 year old."

Reviewed Grilled Chicken Caesar Wrap

This has been the best recipe I have had from the Sandwich King. I recommend making the dressing at the same time you marinate the chicken because the flavors come together better over time. Only add the croutons if you are eating it right away; they become really soggy as leftovers. Next time I am going to try this with flavored wraps just to "

Reviewed Hawaiian BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich with Grilled Pineapple Relish

Dec 9, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These were fantastic. I made this on a weekday so used a crockpot with water to cook the pork shoulder instead of doing it in the oven. The sweet chili sauce is spicy, but can be reduced in heat by just reducing the amount of crushed red pepper. My two sons don't like spicy food so instead of dunking the pork in the sauce I just poured a little"

Reviewed Buttermilk Pancakes

Dec 9, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These pancakes are tasty, but are too much like crepes to be called pancakes. When I think of buttermilk pancakes I think of light and fluffy. These were rubbery and thin and didn't really taste like pancakes."
