I needed to cut the cooking time so I cooked the meat in a pressure cooker with the broth for 35 mins while I prepped veggies and put all together in the oven for an hour. I used up what I had - no parsnips, used mushrooms & not enough beef broth so made up to 4 cups with vegetable broth (which is better with beef than chicken broth). Smells...

The closest I've come to being satisfied with my own biscuits - I didn't have self-rising flour so I used cake flour & added baking powder. My family likes eggs over-cooked so its a challenge to avoid rubbery eggs. I thought this mix looked pretty disgusting when I first started whisking in the sour cream, but I got eggs with a lightly-cripsed bottom, that didn't taste dried out on the plate. Simple & good."

I already had a pan of rice simmering in chicken stock when I looked for a shrimp recipe, so I added parmesan that would've gone in the grits. Also substituted 2 tblsp white wine for the water - otherwise cooked the shrimp as directed (seriously, the wine was closer to me than the water OK?)

I used philly cream cheese & real mozzarella + added some chopped proscuitto (had 3 slices that needed using up). I wish I knew how to dip stuff in flour then egg without making such a mess of myself, but definitely worth it, husband loves me even more now ;o)
