My Activity

Reviewed Mayonnaise

"First time making mayo and...YUM. Came out perfectly! I used canola oil, as it is what I had on hand and I had no issues with anything. Can't wait for BLTs tonight!!""

Reviewed Orange, Radish, and Mint Salad

"I love this combination! I just wish I hadn't halved the recipe (made it for 2) because I could eat heaps of it. Perfect complement to my panko oven-fried chicken. Yum, Ellie!""

Reviewed Pat's Famous Beef and Pork Chili

"This is a great chili recipe! I only made a couple of changes; used chipotles in adobo instead of powder, and used hot Mexican chili powder instead of regular. It was pleasantly spicy and tomato-ey, just the right thickness. The lime wedges are a must-do! Next time I might add more beans and a fresh jalapeno or two. Delicious, Pat!!""

Reviewed Pan Seared Rib Eye

"I don't have a cast iron skillet (tsk, tsk I know) so I used a heavy stainless steel pan and it turned out great. I followed the recipe exactly, cooking for 3 mins on each side for medium. For some reason I got nervous and left them in an extra minute. They were not overcooked (still nice and pink in the middle) but we would have preferred them a bit rarer. I need to learn to trust Alton. He is ALWAYS right :) Delicious recipe, will definitely make this again!"

Reviewed Chinese Chicken Salad

"Awesome Asian chicken salad recipe! I always order this at restaurants, knowing full well that it is loaded with calories and fat that needn't be included. This recipe tastes just as good as, if not better than, any Asian chicken salad at any restaurant without the guilt! I made it exactly as specified but I think it would be great with the addition of cilantro, which I will try next time. As other reviewers have stated, the dressing is out of this world good! I'll be making this again and again! "

Reviewed Roasted Fingerling Potatoes

"Delicious. I only had a red onion on hand so I didn't use the fennel but it was still delicious. I love roasted fingerling potatoes and this recipe will go into my permanent repertoire. I love the bacon and bacon fat!"

Reviewed Crispy Kale "Chips"

"These were unbelievable. I had never tried kale chips but I made this menu for dinner tonight and decided to give it a go. My husband and I absolutely loved them! I can see how they might be useful in getting kids to eat their veggies... I used about a tsp of coarse sea salt, which was way too salty for us. Next time I will use just a pinch of fine sea salt and will add some cayenne perhaps. "

Reviewed Quick Croque Madames

"This was delicious! I made the entire menu from this show for dinner tonight. My husband and I both loved everything. I will make this sandwich again and again. I might omit the salt in the sauce and to finish the egg though. For my taste, the ham alone provided more than adequate saltiness."
