Reviewed Chicken Chorizo Patty Melt

Nov 11, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Really, really delicious. If you can't get your hands on fresh chorizo I feel sorry for you! These patties were so flavorful. I made them on my George Foreman grill so they cooked up super quick. Used whole wheat flatbread that I put on the grill as well. Try these!!
P.S. Yes, the patties are hard to shape so I sprayed the palms of my hands...

Anytime everyone in my family of 6 all eats the same thing and agrees they love it will always get a 5 star review from me. I could probably put this glaze on my morning Cheerios and still love it.""

Loved how easy this was to prepare, however I have to agree with some other reviewers in that the recipe was a little bland. Next time I would add garlic and some fresh basil. Some crushed red pepper flakes wouldn't hurt either. The family liked it, so for me that means this recipe goes in the lineup.""

Reviewed Cucumber Salad

Lovely and refreshing.I always soak my red onions in salt before using in any salad. But just as in this recipe...you must rinse, rinse, rinse!! Great summer side dish, especially with cukes from the garden. I have even put them atop a grilled hamburger(kinda like a pickle) and it was very tasty. Don't cut too thin to avoid them from getting mush...

Enjoyed this recipe alot. Would leave out the potatoes next time because I thought serving the dish with both rice and potatoes was carb redundant. Will definitely make again."

Reviewed Lemon Chicken Breasts

Mar 27, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Loved the simplicity of this dish, but it definitely had a bitter taste going on. Next time, I will leave out the cut up lemon. Baking that along with the chicken sounds like a good idea, but I think it would have been a five star review without it. Maybe the people who thought it was too lemony were simply tasting unnecessary bitterness."

Super delicious and will definitely make again. Just a wonderful side dish. Didn't have any prosciutto on hand, so used bacon instead. Using one or the other, I feel, is essential as it adds a wonderful smokiness to the dish. Enjoy!!"

Reviewed Penne with Shrimp and Herbed Cream Sauce

Mar 27, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Can't say enough about this recipe!! It was fabulous and super quick. Yes, the sauce was a bit thin. But guess what?? It didn't really matter because when you add the pasta to the sauce, the pasta soaks up all that deliciousness. The taste is so good, you won't care either."

Good, not great or over the top as some have reviewed. Don't know if I would make again since two of my kids didn't care for it. Which is too bad in a way since it was economical, quick to put together and it made a ton. Oh well."

Reviewed Pizza with Fresh Tomatoes and Basil

Mar 1, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I agree. This recipe is wrong.Pizza dough is always made in a 3:1 ratio. That's 3 cups flour and 1 cup water. Also, your should always add about 2 tsp of sugar to the yeast/water mixture. The sugar is the energy source the yeast needs to be brought to life. FYI...Those little yeast packages (if you are using those) are 2 1/4 tsps each...not 2 tsp...

I needed something really quick and this fit the bill. Super simple too. The only problem was that I doubled the sauce as suggested by other reviewers and I found that it made the dish too soggy and way too salty (even though I used low sodium soy sauce. I will make again because everyone seemed to like it, but will use low salt or natural peanut...

The whole family really enjoyed this dish. As other reviewers suggested, I doubled the tomatillo salsa and was glad I did. Nicely spiced even though I took the seeds out of the jalapeno after roasting. Can't imagine how spicy it would be otherwise! Will definitely make again,.
