I must disagree. The cooking for that 45 min. to even 1 hr. let's all the flavors meld together. This soup is utterly AWSOME when you cook it properly.

Camellia red beans ARE kidney beans, it says right on the package, "Red Kidney." Now, if you are talking about the "pink" beans, you should know the difference.

This is a GREAT recipe, but I do like the addition of "dry" Marsalla wine to it, as the sweet is just a bit over the top for me. I did it 1/2 & 1/2. Also, I used panko bread crumbs, it was awesome!
