Reviewed sloppy bombay joes

Dec 17, 2014 on

I like Indian food. Made a half batch and still managed to freeze some for future meals. I enjoyed this combination of flavors. Also used sliders instead of larger buns. I thought this would work well for an open house brunch coming up. I plan to put it into a crock pot to serve.

Reviewed panna cotta

Dec 11, 2014 on

Made a half recipe to try out for an open house we are having this holiday season. It made 7 portions in 4 oz. mason jars. This is so creamy. My husband thought it had an even better consistency than Giada's espresso panna cotta. I thought they both were delicious and I will be making both for the open house.

This is a tasty easy recipe. I appreciated the comments about lining a pan with tinfoil because I ended up with some burned on garlic and prunes and a couple of smaller chicken parts that were adhered by the skin to the bottom on the pan. I think I may have needed more sauce. I only used one 4 lb. roaster chicken, instead of 2 as called for, and halved...

This is an excellent salad dressing to make in the summer. I made a batch yesterday and enjoyed it on a green salad with avocado. I appreciate being able to use herbs from my garden to make something delicious.

Great for chocolate addicts. I have made this three times. Two times in 1/2 batches to try recipe before doubling it for the 4th of July. Made it once exactly as written. Made it a second time substituting bitter sweet chocolate for dark. We didn't like it as well. Then for the 4th, I made it 48 hrs. ahead and stacked the jars in the refrigerator....

Yummy tasting but you may want to watch the amount of tequila if you have a lower tolerance for alcohol. I made two servings because there was just my husband and myself. I took the recipe for 4 and cut in half. That meant the individual serving was 1/4 cup of tequila (4oz) and the Triple Sec was 1 Table (1 oz). I fell asleep immediately after dinner....

Reviewed carrot raisin salad

Jun 16, 2014 on

I like the classic carrot salad but found this to be a good alternative. Served it with an Indian dinner of marinated grilled chicken, lentil dal, Basmati rice, and tomato chutney. Wasn't the star of the show but a great character actor. I did take an earlier suggestion and grated in some fresh ginger root.

Tried this recipe last night. My husband declared it a winner. I halved the recipe for the two of us because and used one of the two frozen Trader Joe's pizzas in the package. I couldn't get the part skim milk ricotta so I used the 100% milk from Trader Joe's. This is just a great combination of flavors. It made a great one dish meal with protein,...

This came out the consistency of thick chocolate soup. I made it two days ahead of my dinner party and it never set-up really well. I have made two other pudding recipes from Food Network that were delicious and of the appropriate consistency. The cooking methods were very different from this one. Have learned my lesson. Don't try a new recipe on...

Reviewed baked ham with spiced cherry glaze

May 16, 2014 on

My husband made the sauce for dinner guests with a wonderful bone in smoked ham that we purchased at the Farmer's Market. He decided after he doubled the glaze recipe that the ham did not require a glaze. Instead he served the glaze as a sauce for the ham. Our guests loved it and asked for seconds on it.

These beans were delicious. I halved the recipe for two of us and still froze some away for another meal or two. I did follow the recipe as written and used the coconut water. Another person had mentioned that she didn't think the coconut water added anything but the coconut oil was what flavored the beans. I agree. I tasted the beans when they were...

This salad makes a definite statement. It is a very bold tasty statement! I have made this twice within the last six months. Both times I have taken it to a friend's dinner party. In both cases it was very well received. My only criticism of the recipe is the amount of salt. With the anchovy paste being so salty, I did not add the extra salt the recipe...

This was so easy to make and perfect for a Sunday dinner. I used boned in thighs and 25 minutes cooked them perfectly. I think ovens can very. We had these potatoes for Easter dinner with our butterflied leg of lamb. My son made them with Yukon gold potatoes. He agreed to make this recipe instead of his usual roasted potatoes. Easy and delicious. We loved the combination. It was fast to prepare. Also last time we made it, I froze half the sausage and arugula sauce for a second meal for my husband and myself. Worked great. Thawed the sauce and baked up two more potatoes. Sauce may have been even better the second time.

Reviewed Chicken Catchatory-Ravioli Stew

Dec 14, 2013 on

I have made this stew numerous times over the last few years. It is a real crowd pleaser. I like to freeze some for later meals. The only thing I have changed is using the mini size cheese ravioli which I find perfect bite size with the rest of the ingredients. I have used tortellini when I couldn't find the mini ravioli. That worked well also.

I enjoyed this crisp salad. My husband liked it but didn't think it was spectacular. I wasn't looking for a big starring dish.
