My Activity

Reviewed Southern Red Velvet Cake

"Man...I was so disappointed. I followed the recipe to a "T" even adding a bit more cocoa after reading certain reviews. I made it for Thanksgiving and nobody ate it, the only reason I ate the damn thing cause I made it, the kids ate some but hey their pallets aren't mature enough to taste a bad cake. The edges came out crispy almost burnt, if I hadn't taken it out the oven in time. I thought that the frosting would be a bit too sweet, so I omitted some of the sugar, and it was STILL to sweet. I've made GiGi's Carrot Cake from Emeril (never disappoints that calls for a cream cheese frosting and it's sweet as well, but it's much better I also add a touch of pineapple juice to the frosting, that gives it a little color as well, anyway back to this horrible cake. I watched the video over and over and over again, I read and re-read the recipe. I did everything the cake man did, but it was still dry and tasteless. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!
