The relish was delish. Pretty labor intensive for just grilling some dogs at an ordinary bbq, but it was a great way to fancy things up when we had guests over and had some all-beef dogs to grill. I also did some onions in a foil packet on the grill for more options. I left out the yellow pepper from the relish because they were obscenely expensive...

Loved this recipe! Not only are they actually healthy-- not just not-unhealthy-- they're delicious and look lovely. This was my first time using buckwheat in anything, I bought it just for this recipe, and I really liked the flavor. These are definitely going into my weekend-morning breakfast rotation.

I didn't even roast the pears (because my pears were already very ripe) but the salad was delicious. I added some goat cheese on top. The dressing seems very very simple but is surprisingly delicious and unique. I'll be using this dressing recipe on all sorts of salads.

Clearly I am in the minority here. I must have done something wrong with the frosting (although I followed the directions). It came out too gooey. And the pumpkin bars themselves were kind of bland-- I thought they need a lot more spice. Next time I would add more cinnamon, plus some nutmeg and ginger. I thought this dish lack flavor. I even added almost twice the herbs called for (just because I had them on hand) and it still seemed on the bland side to me. I served it with a cumin and tomato salmon dish, thinking that they would complement each other. The lentils are not terrible, but definitely not worth repeating.
