Outstanding dish, you do have to like the blue cheese taste though. Definitely a favorite of mine and I make it a few times a year. "

I was disappointed with this, not a knock out but won't keep me from trying more recipes of his. I did like the stuffing (stuffing is evil!)... sorry, filling. After reading a couple of reviews here, I wonder if a longer cook time would have been beneficial, I just did the 45m. I ponder slow cooker or just longer in oven instead? "

Reviewed Better Than Grannie's Creamed Corn

May 21, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

As my girlfriend said before trying this, "I do not like creamed corn, it's nasty. Since it's an AB recipe, I'll give it a try."

I have converted yet another person who disliked something into something they liked. Actually, she loved it. Other converted foods was pumpkin pie and pecan pie, both AB's, with a co-worker.

This recipe definitely sold me on making my own pancake mix. After trying it by itself; sans blueberry; which was good, I experimented with pineapple on a couple of pancakes and a couple others cinnamon and nutmeg on others. I look forward to more variates on my pancakes. "

Reviewed Parsnip-Potato Mash

Apr 4, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Followed the recipe pretty much, except for chives, and it came out really good, this will make it to my stack of recipes I've been collecting. Reheating in the microwave the next day, is going to take time to figure out, how much time at 50%, but it didn't lose a star for that. Perhaps adding in chives will get that star, just waiting on my herb...

Reviewed Boston Brown Bread

I only had one can to use, forgot that it required a second one so I used a loaf pan on other. Both came out good. Not quite good enough to make it into my cookbook, a collection of recipes but certainly would recommend trying it if you never had Boston Brown Bread like I have. "

Reviewed Ring of Fire Grilled Chicken

Dec 10, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is the best non-fried chicken I have ever had; fried also belongs to AB. I couldn't find adobo powder so I looked online for homemade, though I forgot about AB's non-pepper requirement. Didn't matter, still great, will hunt for that adobo at a couple other mega-stores.

Update: I did find the adobo powder, bigger bottle than...

Reviewed Bourbon Pecan Pie

Dec 10, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

It was good, not great, I guess I like the sweeter pecan pies, the spice didn't bother me at all. Though I thought I did taste a hint of the alcohol at backend after swallowing the cut of sliced pie. Anyone else who tried it, loved it though. I really did like the crust, excellent flavor in that. I would have used the 3" tall 9" tart pan but that "

My first homemade lemonade, quite good. I used Meyer lemons, squeezed them and all that. I did nix the sugar and went with Splenda instead, I used the same amount, since the bag showed a 1:1 ratio. "

Very good pork chops, meat was falling off the bone. I followed the recipe, except for the 2tsp of salt, accidentally missed it and just did pinch of salt on each side of the pork chops.
