Reviewed Creamy Polenta with Bacon and Cranberries

Jan 4, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

Yummy! Made this with what I had available - substituted water for chicken broth and pancetta for bacon. I didn't add mascarpone or maple syrup. This was delicious! Cranberries add a new twist to a savory dish. I will continue to make polenta this way for breakfast

This was suprisingly delicious! I thought the raw kale and brussel sprouts would be too bitter but not at all. I much prefer this over a cole slaw with mayonnaise. Perfect balance of flavors and very fresh tasting. I used slivered almonds in place of pine nuts and parmesan in place of pecorino cheese due to availability. This recipe is a keeper!

As Ree wrote in her first cookbook, the key is to dice the vegetables very small and to season it very well. I added quite a bit of cayenne, garlic powder, used seasoned salt, and extra salt and pepper. No need to saute the vegetables... they provide a freshness that cuts through the cream of mushroom soup. I don't think this would have as much fl"

This was delicious and easy! I used what I had on hand, including a can of Guinness draught, and sliced celery and cremini mushrooms instead of parsnips and turnips. I also used cornstarch instead of flour to thicken the broth. The broth was so delicious to dunk french bread with butter in. The meat was tender after only 1.5 hours cooking in a ca"

This is soo delicious! After reading some reviews I made a few tweaks. I only added 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar to the topping, and 1/4 cup of granulated sugar to the cherries to cut down on sweetness, and the end result came out perfectly sweet. To the topping I added 1/2 cup of rolled oats for more crunch and a pinch o"
