Reviewed Herb and Garlic Roast Pork Loin with Honey Mustard Sauce

Jan 3, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made it exactly as instructed, and it tuned out very moist and flavorful. My only complaint was that the garlic heads were dry and the amount of sauce made was totally insufficient; hence the four stars. So don't count on those two components to make the dish. Next time I may wrap the garlic in foil with a little olive oil and make way more s"

Reviewed Grilled Chicken Breasts with Spicy Peach Glaze

May 15, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very very good and moist. Frenching the chicken breasts means de-boning them while leaving the skin on, BTW. I used apricot preserves instead of the peach simply because that's what I had on hand, and of course I didn't bother with the fresh peaches. I will make again, no doubt about it!"

This is so good, and is economical as well. I served it with Giada's polenta and sauteed spinach and I was in heaven! I made it as directed except for using one onion instead of two. I will definitely make it again."

I thought these bars were spot on for the tart/sweet flavors, and I didn't have a problem with them getting too brown. I use an oven thermometer by the way. They were really good!""

I really liked this, however when I make it again I will add a bit more pine nuts and currants. Other than that, it was pretty doggone tasty!""

I have made this a few times, and I really like it! I have the deli guy slice the 1/4 pound pancetta thickly, and then I cube it for the saute. It works out great!

Reviewed Turkey Meatballs with Quick And Spicy Tomato Sauce and Whole-Wheat Spaghetti

Sep 26, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

So good and I will make this again! I had a friend over for dinner who is not into healthy foods, and my husband who likes the usual meatballs and spaghetti, and they both loved it! The only thing I changed was that I added a little sugar to the tomato sauce, which I always do. ""

Reviewed Scalloped Tomatoes

Sep 18, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I was torn between giving this recipe four or five stars. I had to go with "very good'. I hated scalloped tomatoes when my mom made them as a kid, but these bear no resemblance to those, thank goodness! They are very good. The only thing that made me give it four stars is the fact that in every couple of bites I got a bite of soggy bread; yech...

I thought the salt was too much, and I know Ina really likes a lot of salt; therefore, I didn't follow my instincts and I'm sorry I didn't. Also, I cooked the darn things for 10 minutes and they were a tad under 2 inches thick. Mine turned out medium well. Disappointment! However, I loved the preparation of the steaks, and I will definitely m...

Reviewed Grilled Corn and Tomato-Sweet Onion Salad with Fresh Basil Dressing and Crumbled Blue Cheese

Sep 1, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is absolutely delicious, and the fact that you add the blue cheese at the end is a good idea for me, because not everyone in my family likes it. I would serve the blue cheese on the side and my family and friends could crumble on as much or as little as they like. I don't think the salad needs it, and I like blue cheese! I would make again...

Reviewed Grilled Sweet Potatoes Brushed with Spice Oil

Aug 16, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These were really delicious, and sweet potatoes are so good for you, too! Plus, they are super-easy to make, and a side to your grilled meat that is kind of unexpected. You can cook the potatoes earlier in the day, and then throw them on the grill at the last minute. I highly recommend you try this recipe, and I will definitely make these again....

Aug 11, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I have found my new favorite meatloaf! Very FLAYvorful (Sorry) I made it exactly as directed, but I used 1 pound ground turkey instead of veal, and the rest ground pork and hamburger. Really, really good, and I usually only like meatloaf cold the next day for sandwiches. My husband loved it, too! ""

Umm, just okay and I will not make again. It was dull, so I added a little rice vinegar, and a little sugar, and though improved, it was still "not so much". Also, do not add salt, or you will end up dehydrated!!!!!!! Just kidding, but it is salty enough, let me tell you."

Totally delicious, and easy to make. you can make the salsa earlier in the afternoon, and the meat doesn't even need to marinate! The salsa is really wonderful, and I will be making it again. If I could give this 10 stars, I would! It tastes just like a full-fat, full-calorie cobb salad, and it's easy to make. I doubled the amount of dressing, and I had it for dinner and the next day for lunch, and it was just as good the next day. I made this bread today and it was quite easy to make in a stand mixer; one of the easiest yeast breads I have ever made, in fact! I'm freezing the extra ones, and it will be so nice to have a bread like this in the freezer ready to go! I also...
