Reviewed Classic Belgian Waffles
"I'm a pretty experienced cook, but this recipe was a disaster! I followed the steps exactly (except I added butter into the mixture last, so I didn't scramble the egg yolk). The batter was horrible - even though I folded in the egg whites, they kept separating out from the rest of the batter. What was left under the egg yolk was a runny mess. Afte""
Reviewed Stuffed Cabbage
"The sauce is a 10/10. I didn't have raisins on hand, but I had dried cranberries, so I used that. It went well with the sweet and sour flavor of the sauce. Now the cabbage and filling...I would give it maybe 1 star. So boring. Her method for cooking the cabbage took forever! I spent 3 hours making this meal. Hardly seemed worth it, although now I "
Reviewed Sesame Chicken
"I'm guessing the addition of sesame oil and garlic must have put the recipe over the $10 mark? I added 1 tsp sesame oil to the marinade, a few dashes of granulated garlic, and some freshly ground black pepper. I made two batches so that I could glaze the chicken with it at the end. I didn't want to reduce it, because it was already salty enough."
Reviewed Pina Colada Key Lime Pie
"I loved the overall flavor of this pie - and the fact that it was a no-bake dessert! The creamy texture and perfect tartness of lime was the best part. I also liked that it was not too sweet. I ran into a few problems, though. I couldn't get the honey to incorporate well into the bread crumbs. The result were "rocks" of honey interspersed throughout the crust. Because of this, the remainder of the crust did not hold together well.
I loved the flavor of pineapple in the filling. While I did not mind the little bits of crushed pineapple, my family did not like the texture. If I make this again, I might try pureeing the pineapple."
Reviewed Smoked Salmon Spread
"I'm in love with this salmon spread! Followed the recipe exactly (except I didn't have fresh dill, used dried instead) and it seemed like the right amount of salmon. I love how the smoky and creamy flavors come together with a little zing from the horseradish. Even my 5 year-old loved it! (Shh...don't tell him it's made with fish!)
